Presenter Bio
Ani loves writing about herself in third person and has written this all true bio. Ani is a Data Scientist for the Digital Platforms Group in McGraw-Hill Education company. She has a diverse educational background (some say she likes collecting degrees). She holds a B.S. in Law and Political Science from French University in Armenia where she was practicing Law. Ever since graduating she moved to United States to complete two M.S. degrees, Business Administration and Information Systems at Utah State University. Before joining MHE, she also received her doctoral studies in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences. Her research interests include student affect, motivation and engagement, online learning platforms, educational data mining, and learning analytics. More specifically she is interested in the affect and behavior detection while students are engaged in educational games, student performance modeling, metacognitive factors of learning, and engagement identification during learning. Ani’s dissertation is on students’ emotional and behavioral response to educational digital games. She believes in learning by doing, which is how she learned English – by speaking what she believed was English.
