As Director of Research Products, I manage our team focused on applying specific subsets of artificial intelligence to accelerate the pace of technology scouting and innovation monitoring at Lux Research. As the "translator" between Lux's core business and our data scientists and programmers, I manage and coordinate our evaluation and implementation of machine learning algorithms, along with data source selection and processing, great visualization, and a tight, frequent, iterative loop back to our internal and external clients. Previously worked at the intersection of innovation in renewables, batteries, and the internet-of-energy. In that role I directly managed three Lux Research teams - Energy Storage, Distributed Generation, and Solar - that study the technologies and business models disrupting the transportation and power industries. These groups advise world-class large corporations on growth and investment strategies in next-generation technologies.
My background is as a Ph.D.-level scientist and engineer by training, with deep subject matter expertise in energy and materials, as well as hands-on computer programming experience.
